Perfect for a group outing, the Wairoa rafting trip is situated just off State Highway 29 between Matamata and Tauranga.
A hydro-controlled river, this rafting trip is only available 26 days a year so get in quick! The Wairoa Grade 5 is suitable for all active people aged 13 years and over.

- Recommended minimum weight limit 40kg, Maximum 120kg.

Wairoa Release Dates:
The Wairoa is a dam release river that only runs 26 days a year, in order to release the water they have to shut down a hydroelectric power station. To follow are the dates for the 2010 - 2011 season.
The following are the confirmed dates for the season.
2010 - Sept - 12th, 26th, Oct -10th, 24th, Nov - 14th, 28th, Dec - 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th
2011 - Jan - 2nd, 9th, 16th, 23rd, 30th, Feb - 6th, 13th, 20th, 27th, March - 6th, 20th, April - 3rd, 17th, 22nd + 23rd + 24th (national slalom kayak champs)
