Raft Down Rangitaiki River
Our Grade 3-4 Trip
The Rangitaiki Grade 3-4 experience is the next level expedition combining the beauty of 100% pure New Zealand native bush and plantation forest with the rushing rapids and foamy white waters of ‘Geoff’s Joy,’ a torrent and the primary Grade 4 rapid.
Meet at our base at Murupara Motorcamp, 963 State Highway 38, Murupara, just 45 minutes from Rotorua. If you prefer, we can arrange a shuttle to pick you up from your central Rotorua accommodation.
Trips are subject to minimum numbers, water levels, and weather conditions.
The Rangitaiki River Grade 3-4 is suitable for all active people aged 13 years and over (we can take as young as 10 years old, but conditions apply).
We provide:
Safety helmets
Life jackets
Wetsuits
Polar fleece tops (weather dependent)
Spray jackets (weather dependent)
Wetsuit booties
Food and drink
Hot shower
Duration:
With our Grade 3-4 trips you will be on the water around 1 hour 45 minutes, allow around 4 hours (5 1/2 hrs including central Rotorua transfers)
Travel time for both trips from Rotorua is 45 minutes; from Taupo, 1 hour
You need:
Swimsuit and towel
Towel
Requirements:
Minimum recommended weight limit is 30kg (please advise us of any participants under 40kg)
Maximum recommended weight limit – 125kg
